"I hired Stuart to review and revise my resume, especially due to the challenges of getting interviews. Stuart first re-formatted my resume to make it more readable by recruiters. Then, he worked with me directly to write a more targeted Summary and overall content to highlight my relevant experience, strengths and accomplishments and to contain the keywords and phrases that properly match the positions for which I am applying. Consequently, I am already receiving more calls for interviews!" February 17, 2011 - John Bass, IT professional

Do you know ...

  • Should you use an Objective or a Summary?

  • What do you include in a resume Summary?

  • Should your resume be 1 page or 2 pages?

  • How many versions you should have?

  • What information should you include?

  • Which format is better - chronological or functional?

  • Why isn't your resume getting more responses and leading to more interviews?

The Resume is part of your marketing process.  It is part of your preparation process.  Before you write your resume, you need to do self-assessment to identify your job or career goals and your target market, the needs and requirements of the job or career you are seeking, and your experience, skills, accomplishments, education and training that is relevant to that job/career.  Then, you need to present your background in a format that will be read, and that will interest a recruiter or hiring manager to schedule an interview.

The Resume has changed over the recent years.  For example, a Summary has replaced the Objective, and online job postings often require that you submit a resume in a text format, instead of Microsoft Word.

Resumes submitted via the Internet are collected in vast databases and are accessed only if they match the criteria of a specific search.  Your resume needs to match the needs of the company and the use of the right Key Words is essential.

How much time will the recruiter or hiring manager spend reading your resume?  Your resume will typically receive a first glance of only 20-30 seconds!  If it doesn't capture the attention of the reader, it will be passed over.  It needs to tell your story in a clear and concise manner.

I will help you create a resume that "speaks to" the reader and promotes your relevant experience, skills, accomplishments and education/training.
